Traditions - the kind memories are made from
Today we had a little fun making new memories and establishing what will become, I hope, a new favorite holiday tradition of ours! Cutting down a fresh tree to bring home for Christmas!
It was such a fun day, which began by visiting a local tree farm, called Christmas Tree Lane! What a wonderful place, full of family and tradition, a welcoming place that greets all of one's senses, fresh cookies warm from the oven, hot cocoa served by a warm crackling fire, a field of trees, fresh and green some adorned with ornaments and lights. Sleighs, old trucks, and wagons are staged among the trees, begging for the perfect photo op...memories both old and new waiting to be made. The kind of place that feels like home.
We have been married over 40 years now and this is the first year we cut down our own Christmas tree. I have to say it was by far the most memorable and fun way to select a tree. Of course, we have yet to get it in the house and in a tree stand, but once we do the fun of today will live on throughout the Christmas season and in our memories for years to come. I think a new tradition was born - the kind the best memories are made from! This year was more special as we were able to share it with 5 of our grandchildren and one of our daughters.
If you are in Northwest Arkansas be sure to visit Christmas Tree Lane!
