One of the biggest and most daunting tasks that we knew we'd have to take on sooner or later with this building project was the unfinished, partially insulated ceiling in our new foyer-loft space. It would become our nemesis hanging over our heads quite literally e v e r y d a y. Not something you could overlook or ignore and as the heat of the summer climbed ever higher we knew the task was going to have to make it to the top of our "to-do lists" or we'd be paying dearly for the cooling bill this summer.
We finally got the project off the ground, by building up our scaffolding and setting up to tackle the loft first, where we wouldn't be so far off the ground, while we got a system figured out. We had lots of help, a couple of grandsons, our eldest daughter, and a cousin. Without their awesome help and muscle we'd still be in the planning stages I'm pretty sure!
Today we made it to the halfway mark! The loft section is done! It will take a little more effort and care to finish the rest since we will be climbing up 4 sections of the scaffold to reach the foyer ceiling. Once it's behind us though it will make such a difference in the heating and cooling of this space and it will certainly be a visual improvement!
What a job, but looks awesome. Shiplap has become so popular.
